Special Remarks from the Distinguished Guest Speaker

Dr. Kavitha Sothirasan
(Staff Physician, Dept. of Neonatology, KKH)

Participating in this seminar was an extremely meaningful and valuable experience for
me. The lectures by authoritative professors in the field were highly suggestive,
underpinned by abundant clinical experience in appropriate cranial medical
examinations and appropriate helmet therapy. Furthermore, the opportunity to
interact with numerous experts well-versed in cranial pathology allowed me to gain a
deeper understanding of the characteristics of the infant cranium and the
biomechanics of effective correction. There is no doubt that this seminar has
deepened my knowledge regarding assessment methods, formulation of treatment
plans, and long-term prognosis in cranial deformity management. I am convinced that
the many important clinical insights gained here will significantly contribute to
improving the quality of patient care at the KKH PlagioCentre (KK Hospital Head Shape
Clinic), the first national specialized clinical center in Singapore dedicated to the
assessment and treatment of cranial asymmetry. The operation by Japan Medical
Company was also extremely smooth, making it a wonderful seminar full of intellectual
stimulation. I earnestly hope that such opportunities for study will be provided again in
the future, and I look forward to deepening the collaboration between Japanese
doctors and Japan Medical Company.

Background on KKH-JPMC Collaboration (Previously Issued Press Release) KKH and JPMC
have been strengthening collaboration to support evidence-based cranial care and the

About Japan Medical Company

Japan Medical Company is a manufacturing venture that innovates the shape of medicine
using cutting-edge 3D printing technology. Preceded by Ohno Kogyo, a steel manufacturer
founded in 1897, the company has continued to grow based on manufacturing technology
and spirit cultivated over 130 years. In 1999, the company introduced reverse engineering
using additive manufacturing technology (3D printing) and obtained a patent for a
manufacturing method for human bone models such as auditory ossicles. In the field of 3D
models for preoperative simulation, this led to the development of numerous preoperative
case models and educational training models. Currently, these are used for hands-on training
using our models in preoperative simulations and board certification examinations, primarily
in the fields of Neurosurgery and Otorhinolaryngology. In 2012, the company jointly
developed "Aimet," the first domestically produced cranial remolding helmet, with
neurosurgeons, and became independent as Japan Medical Company in 2018. Currently,
the company develops, manufactures, and sells cranial remolding helmets "Qurum Fit" and
"Qurum," the "Baby's Head Shape Measurement App" which can easily measure the degree
of infant cranial deformity, and the "metto app" which supports helmet therapy, aiming to
create new value in the medical field. With a track record of over 20,000 cumulative cases
using helmets, we will strive to further expand awareness of helmet therapy and work on
disseminating the concept of cranial shape correction itself and disease enlightenment.
